Poncirus trifoliata in the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh

Photos of the Poncirus trifoliata at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh, Scotland. I believe it was planted in 1954, making it 50 years old.
I would guess the plant is about 2.5 metres high and about the same diameter. This is an excellent specimen, especially considering how far north it is, with plenty of young fruit in late July as well as several second flush flowers . The plant is well-rounded and dense - perhaps it is regularly trimmed back. Unusually, it has relatively few thorns.

Peering underneath the canopy, the trunk is very twisted, with the main branches joining right at ground level.
